Bring Me Your Need, and I Will Give You a Seed!

One of the many reasons I love gardening is that the spiritual applications are endless. Gardening always begins with something being planted. Every growing thing begins with a seed!

Just like a natural seed, the Bible says God’s word is a seed. God has perfectly equipped seeds for every need or circumstance we will face on this earth.

God desires for us to bring our need to Him and ask Him for His seeds of wisdom. We are asking Him for His thoughts on the matter.

In James 1:5, it says “If any of you lacks wisdom to guide him through a decision or circumstance, he is to ask of our benevolent God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.”

These seeds of truth are the starting point for every prayer of faith we will pray. God desires to speak to our heart and reveal His will (His specific seeds) in every situation.

There are seeds for healing, seeds for provision, seeds for mental peace and direction. There is no lack of seeds God can choose from! Revealing His seeds is one of the ways He desires to have personal fellowship with us.

This is how we are able to co-labor with God to see His will fulfilled in our lives!  We bring Him our need, and then He reveals the seed He sees best for our situation.

It could be one verse or a combination of verses we read in the Bible.  It could be a prophetic word spoken or a message preached through a fellow believer, or it could be words God speaks to us personally that align with His written word.  Many times, He will start with the written word and send confirmation through others!

Just as a baby is conceived through an intimate encounter, we will experience an intimate encounter with the Holy Spirit when He reveals a seed of Truth to us!

The Bible says in Romans 10:17, “Faith COMES by hearing and hearing BY THE WORD OF GOD.”  We will struggle to have faith for a situation without a seed of Truth.

See the connection?  Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1), Jesus is the Way, THE TRUTH, and the Life (John 14:6). Within His Word of Truth is His very own faith (Romans 3:22), and the power to bring that Word to pass (Romans 1:16)!

When we hear and accept the seed He reveals to us, that seed gets planted in our heart. We’ll know when the faith seed of Jesus comes. His faith brings with it joy, comfort, and hope!

God designed His “Word” seed to grow and bring forth His will. We simply provide the necessary conditions for growth.

So how do we begin to plant God’s seeds?   When a need presents itself, we should first search the written word for verses related to our need. We can use the concordance in our Bible, or even faster, do a search on the internet.

We then ask Holy Spirit to bring life to any verses He chooses to conceive faith within the womb of our heart. We should write down these life infused verses that touch us and bring comfort. These are our seeds! This is literally how Jesus, who is The Truth, becomes the author of our faith!

As we partner with the voice of Holy Spirit and the faith of Jesus, we will display the will of the Father for all to see!

Hebrews 12:2  – “Looking unto Jesus, who is the author and the finisher of our faith…”

Romans 3:22 – “and the righteousness of God is through the faith of Jesus Christ to all, and upon all those believing,–for there is no difference.” Young’s Literal Translation

John 16:13 – “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].
