Hebrews 11:6 NKJV- “But without faith, it is impossible to please God, for He who comes to Him must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”
It’s hard to imagine that we, as faulty humans, could bring pleasure to the God of the universe, but God says we can, and the verse above tells us how!
One of the ways He says we bring Him pleasure is by believing that “He IS.” In Genesis 17:1, God told Abraham, I AM the Almighty God, “El Shaddai,” meaning “I AM God, the All Sufficient One.” Here are just some of the names of God that expound on who He is:
I AM Jehovah Rapha – “The LORD our Healer”
I AM Jehovah Jireh – “The LORD our Provider”
I AM Jehovah Rohi – “The LORD our Shepherd”
I AM Jehovah Tsidkenu – “The Lord our Righteousness”
I AM Jehovah Shalom – “The LORD our Peace”
I AM Jehovah Shammah – “The LORD is There”
I AM Jehovah Nissi – “The LORD our Covering”
I AM Jehovah Sabaoth – “The LORD of Hosts”
(The LORD over heaven’s angelic armies sent to deliver us!)
Now here is the amazing part…God is NOT saying “Do things FOR ME to bring Me pleasure.” On the contrary, He is saying “Bring Me pleasure by believing and declaring WHO I AM FOR YOU this very day, in this very circumstance!”
Your Healer!
Your Provider!
Your Shepherd!
Your Righteousness!
Your Peace!
Your Abiding Presence!
Your Covering!
Your Sender of Angelic Armies!
