Do You Believe in God’s Love?

“If God is love,” as written in 1 John 4:8, then…

God endures long and is patient.

God is kind.

God does not envy or boil over with jealousy.

God does not boast nor display Himself haughtily.

God is not arrogant and inflated with pride.

God is not rude and does not act unbecomingly.

God does not insist on His own way.

God is not touchy, fretful, or resentful.

God does not rejoice at wrongdoing and injustice.

God rejoices when right and truth prevails.

God bears up under anything and everything that comes.

God is ever ready to believe the best of everyone.

God’s hopes are fadeless under all circumstances.

God endures everything without weakening.

God covers a multitude of sins.
(From 1 Corinthians 13 – The Love Chapter)

Ask yourself, “Do I really believe…”

That God sees the best in me?

That God is patient with my failures and weaknesses?

That God’s hopes and plans for me are fadeless?

That God is not touchy, fretful, or upset with me?

That God casts the remembrance of my sins into the depths of the sea as I bring them to Him in repentance?

I once heard someone say, if we truly knew and believed how much God loved us, we would not have a care or fear in the world!

1 John 4:18 – “There is no fear in love. Dread does not exist. But perfect, complete, full-grown love drives out fear, because fear involves the expectation of divine punishment, so the one who is afraid of God’s judgment is not perfected in love. He has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love.”

Isaiah 43:5 – “I, yes I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake and remembers your sins no more.”

Zephaniah 3:17 – “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His LOVE He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

We also learn from the Bible that without a deep revelation of God’s love FOR US, we will not be able to love others. We will even struggle to love God and feel intimate with Him apart from a revelation of His love for us.

WE CANNOT LOVE WITHOUT GOD! ❤️

“We love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19)

“And so we KNOW and RELY on the LOVE God has for us. God is love... 1 John 4:16a

As you listen to God’s heart in worship, ask Him to give you a greater revelation of His love for you today~
