God calls our enemy a thief and a robber. He is out to steal our God ordained inheritance…all the things Jesus died to give us.
We live in a fallen world where satan (with a little “s”) has been killing, stealing, and destroying the lives of God’s people, beginning with the fall of Adam. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8, he lays in wait, “looking for those he can devour.”
None of us have escaped the wicked plans of the devil. Our hearts have been traumatized with loss at some point or many points in our lifetime.
We must remember, however, that Jesus went to hell in our place and stripped satan of all his power. Our Savior made an open show of satan’s defeat in front of every demon and resident in hell. satan must have a human’s agreement to accomplish his dirty deeds on the earth.
As mentioned in my earlier devotionals, satan takes advantage of any believer who lacks knowledge of their inheritance and does not firmly resist his schemes. God says in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge…”
He is allowed to use the minds of people who are not marked with the blood of Jesus, and he works diligently to gain the minds of believers through deception.
Although we have all suffered at the hands of the enemy, many of us have been unaware that the devil has to PAY UP big time when confronted with the things he has stolen from us.
In Proverbs 6:31, God lays out His plan of restitution for us, saying “Men do not despise the thief if he steals to satisfy his hunger. Yet, if caught, he must pay SEVENFOLD;* he must give up all the wealth of his house.” (*”sevenfold” represents full restitution!)
Remember that our enemy is not one to give up his goods without a fight. He must be CONFRONTED and a demand must be made for the recovery of the stolen aspects of our life.
For the past four weeks I have heard repeatedly about God’s desire for His children to experience RESTORATION and RECOMPENSE! He has receipts for every time the enemy has stolen from us. This thievery has come through many channels, including the enemy using people to aid him in destroying our God given rights and destinies.
Hear what our Father God is saying, “Restitution is what I am offering you My children. Come and get it and see My restoration!”
As with anything God offers, we must practically receive and appropriate His plan of recompense. In the earth’s system of justice, a person goes before a judge to present their case when they have been stolen from or harmed.
This is how God’s system of justice works as well. We are not to avenge ourselves! We take our claims to our Father who is JUDGE OVER ALL. Let’s make a list of all the ways that we and our families have suffered at the hands of the enemy. Here are some examples of losses we can include:
Physical illness
Mental illness and distress
Miscarriages
Injuries due to accidents
Sexual, Physical, Mental Abuse
Rejection, Abandonment, Betrayal
Loss of reputation from false accusations
Financial losses
Time/Years Lost
Torn or severed relationships
Grief from untimely loss of loved ones
Bondage through addiction
Divorce/Families torn apart
Stolen identities manifesting in homosexuality
Lost opportunities
Weather Disasters
TRAUMA FROM ALL OF THE ABOVE
Through prayer, we must first repent for any sin known or unknown and make sure we have forgiven any people who have wounded us.
Remember we don’t war against flesh and blood. It is the enemy that used those people to harm us!
We can then present our losses to the Father in bold faith. He will in turn render His verdict that the enemy has been caught and must “PAY UP!!”
We can boldly declare this verdict back to the enemy and remind him that he must pay back sevenfold what has been stolen!
God will begin working to bring restoration, making sure our enemy pays back all that is owed to us. Our job is to BELIEVE AND DECLARE God’s plans of restoration, and be quick to obey any instructions He might give us during the waiting period.
As we look forward to God following through with His promises, we can thank Him out loud regularly for bringing to pass His good plans for us!
DO NOT DELAY in seeking the Father for recompense!
Below are some verses that will help build our faith so that we can approach the Father boldly and ask for this grace of restoration and recompense!
Proverbs 6:30-31 “People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. But if he is caught, he shall restore sevenfold, all the substance of his house.”
Joel 2:25-27 -“ I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the LORD Your God, who has dealt wondrously with you.”
Psalm 66:12 – “You’ve allowed our enemies to prevail against us. We’ve passed through fire and flood, yet in the end you always bring us out better than we were before, saturated with your goodness.”
Genesis 50:20 – “You tried to harm me, but God made it turn out for the best, so that He could save all these people, as He is now doing.”
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Isaiah 44:3-4 – “ I will pour refreshing water on the thirsty and on the dry ground. I will pour out my Spirit on your children, my blessing upon your descendants. They will spring up like grass blanketing a meadow, like poplars growing by gushing streams.”
Isaiah 42:3 – “A broken reed he will not break off and a dimly burning wick he will not extinguish. He will not harm those who are weak and suffering. He will faithfully bring forth justice.”
Isaiah 51:3- “Indeed, Yahweh will comfort Zion, restore her, and comfort all her broken places. He will transform her wilderness into the garden of bliss. into the garden of Yahweh. Joy and laughter will fill the air with Thanksgiving and joyous melodies.”
This song will encourage you in declaring your restoration and restitution!
*Here is a prayer for recompense:
“Oh Lord our God, the most high God, maker of heaven and earth, our creator, our sustainer, and our protector. You are the just God of all the earth, sitting on your throne of judgment, the high court of heaven. You Lord, execute righteousness and justice for all that are oppressed. You are the Lord of the Sabbath, the ruler over all, the God of angelic armies that fight against our enemies as an avenger of our adversaries.
Besides You, there is no savior. Because of Your great love toward us and Your love for justice, you forsaketh not your saints, but you come to our aid to uphold the justice upon your throne; your throne in heaven. Now is a set time for Your favor. The enemy has been oppressing Your children. He has been resisting us, but now Lord, we call upon You to dismantle everything that is out of line with heaven’s government in our lives.
(THIS IS WHERE WE CAN PRESENT OUR LIST TO THE FATHER)
Hear our cry Oh Lord, and be gracious and harken to us. Restore justice and judgment in all of our situations. For You love righteousness and You hate wickedness. Bring your righteous judgment upon our adversary and against all that He is doing. Punish and penalize him for what he has put us through, including every suffering, every humiliation, every shame, every embarrassment, every loss, every entrapment, every sickness, every attack of the devil. He is the perpetrator, he is behind all injustices, and I pray in the name of Jesus, deal with him and deliver us out of every affliction. Restore to us everything he has stolen from us and our ancestors.
Everything delayed, bring it forth now! We ask it by faith in the name of Jesus, AMEN!“
