PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS AND BLESSING
Forgiveness is when we choose to relinquish our plans for punishment and place our offender into God’s hands for correction. We are not saying that what they did was right.
“Father, by the act of my will I choose to fully and freely forgive and release ___________ for _____________________. I cast all judgements, resentments, unforgiveness, and bitterness onto You Jesus to be healed and dissolved. I choose to loose and let go of all ill feeling. Soul, you let them go! Divine love fill and bring forth healing in my heart.“
After we place our offender into God’s hands for correction, we are to begin blessing them for as long as it takes, to obtain and feel God’s love for that person. We don’t have to muster up our own love! Blessing our enemies prohibits the deep roots of pain and bitterness from growing in our hearts, which the Bible says will go beyond just us and will begin corrupting those around us.
“I ask you Father to bless ______. I ask you to bless their heart and mind. I ask for restoration and reversal of all damages in their soul and body. I ask you to bless their family, bless their home, their marriage, and their children. Bless their job, their business and their finances. Do good to them Father by giving them a spirit of repentance. Deliver them from the evil forces keeping them captive to do the will of satan. Draw them to You, Father by the power of Your Holy Spirit.“
Forgiveness cannot be accomplished in our own strength. We must come higher into God’s presence to surrender our hurts and offenses and lay our offenders at His feet.
